Water Safety & Eco Coasteering

Here at Devon's finest water sports activity company South West Outdoors, we have realised that the outdoor environment especially the sea can be a dangerous place if you are unfamiliar with the surroundings or with what to do in an emergency. In 2011 we are running a Water Safety in schools programme which is FREE. The programme involves a talk, slides, practical tasks and questions and will last around 90 minutes.

We will cover:

Tides

Cliff fragility

Water safety

Rip currents

Rivers, flooding and still water

Sea Swimming and fatigue

Surfing and surf safety

Coasteering do's and don'ts (including tomb stoning)

Very basic first aid and calling the emergency services

We can do this at your school, all we need is a classroom. We hope this will be a great introduction to the sea for those who visit it but don’t live near it..

We can also do a swimming pool session or we can host a day event at our training centre where you can visit the North Devon coastline for a practical session.

Practical sessions will be charge at a reduced rate.
